Swisscare offers

International Student Health Insurance

This plan covers medical emergencies during your studies abroad. It includes 24/7 medical assistance, such as search and rescue, repatriation, and access to emergency medical care. The plan also provides third-party liability coverage, which protects you in case you accidentally injure someone or damage their property.

The insurance is available to holders of a student visa and offers a choice between three coverage amounts: €50,000, €150,000, or €500,000, with no deductible for medical costs. Coverage can range from 1 to 365 days, and you may cancel the plan at any time before the start date. You are eligible for this plan if you are:

  • An international student, intern, au pair, academic, or researcher within the EU/EEA;
  • A resident of the EU/EEA studying abroad (excluding the U.S. and Canada).
